Dr. Sara N. Badano
Dr. Badano received her B.S. in Biology from Liceo Logosofico and obtained her medical degree from Facultad de Medicina – Universidad de la Republica Oriental del Uruguay. She completed her Internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois – Chicago and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Badano joined HPCCR in 2021.
Dr. Carley Borrelli
Dr. Borrelli graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor in Science in 2015. She attended the Medical College of Georgia where she earned a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health in 2020. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Novant Health in 2023, finished her Hospice and Palliative Fellowship at Atrium Health in 2024, and joined VIA Health Partners in 2024. Dr. Borrelli resides in Charlotte with her husband, Michael, and their dog, Layla.

Dr. Cuong (John) Doan
Dr. Doan earned his B.S. from Georgia Institute of Technology and his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia (now Augusta University). He completed his internship and residency with Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. He is board certified in Family Practice and has most recently worked as an staff physician with AFC Urgent Care in Mooresville, NC. Dr. Doan joined HPCCR in 2022.
Dr. Christen (Chrissie) Fisher
Dr. Fisher earned her B.S. in Biology from Wake Forest University and her M.D. from Wake Forest School of Medicine. She completed her residency in the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency training program as an intern and is board certified in Emergency Medicine. She joined HPCCR in 2016.
Carmella (Carla) Gismondi-Eagan MD, FACP, ABCL
Dr. Gismondi-Eagan received her degree in Biochemistry from Brown University and her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency including a Chief Resident year at AGH/Medical College of PA - Hanneman College of Medicine. She was awarded a National Public Health Scholarship and began her career serving in a Community Health Center on the border in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She came to North Carolina in 2008 and has served in multiple roles (including Hospice and Palliative medicine) as an Internal Medicine Specialist with Atrium Health. She has board certifications in Internal Medicine and Clinical Lipidology. She joined VIA Health Partners in 2023.

Dr. Richard Jones
Richard Jones is a board-certified Family Physician who graduated from Davidson College, UNC School of Medicine, and Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. He completed his residency training at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston then spent more than 20 years providing medical services at both domestic and overseas locations for the US military, diplomatic, and intelligence communities.
Dr. Jones moved back to North Carolina in 2020 and most recently worked for Duke providing comprehensive healthcare services to a mostly elderly patient population.
Dr. Mrinalini Joshi
Dr. Joshi earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Grant Medical College, University of Mumbai in India. She completed her internship in India and her residency at the University of Iowa. She is certified in both Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Family Medicine.
Rachel (Olivia) Markham, PA-C
Olivia earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from The University of North Carolina at Asheville and Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from East Carolina University. She began her career as a Board-Certified Physician Assistant in long-term care. She is originally from Cleveland County and is excited to serve the patients of this region while pursuing her passion for chronic disease management, patient education, and evidence-based care. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and 2 fur babies.

Dr. John Peter (J.P.) McBryde
Dr. McBryde graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Davidson College in 1986 and a Medical Degree from Medical University of South Carolina in 1992. He then completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL and a fellowship in sports medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. He is board certified by ABEM in both. Dr. McBryde is from Charlotte and was a faculty member with the Department of Emergency Medicine at CMC for many years. He returned to the Charlotte region in late 2021 after 6 years with Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. In November 2022, Dr. McBryde joined HPCCR.
Dr. Shenita Spencer Moore
Dr. Moore received her B.A. in Biology from Johns Hopkins University in 2004 and Medical Degree from Emory University School of Medicine in 2009. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center (now Atrium Health) in 2012. She completed fellowships in geriatric medicine and hospice and palliative medicine at Wake Forest Baptist Health in 2014. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She has worked in multiple roles including inpatient hospice, home hospice, nursing facility medical director, and most recently 9 years in outpatient palliative medicine in oncology. Dr. Moore is a North Carolina native (from eastern NC) and loves spending time with her family, reading, and watching football.

Dr. Thomas Trautmann
Dr. Trautmann earned his B.A. from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH and his M.D. at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center and his residency in Radiation Oncology at Wake Forest University. Dr. Trautmann has been with HPCCR since 2017.
